Kind of won the lottery Sunday at my local auction. Bought 1 L46 and won the other in the raffle. They are about 1.5 inches each. I have heard that they do not tolerate blood worms well, anyone have any thoughts?

Yeah. not sure where you read that. Hypans LOVE bloodworms. Breeders of L46 do advise against feeding whole bloodworms to fry, but at 1.5 inches they're more than capable of handling them whole. Live bloodworms are hard to come by around here; I feed frozen to all my hypans and they devour them.

Congrats on the pick up!

X2 .. bloodworms only bad when young as they can choke on them.

They are better in groups, so I'm glad you have at least 2. Cute little buggers, I wanted a group of 5 or 6 but couldn't find any locally or for a good price.

PS make sure you have some caves and hiding spots for them. There are some L046 breeding caves on ebay and aquabid if you want the appropriate sized ones ...

Actually, this is exactly the concern I had and was mentioned to me by their breeder. He had said they can choke on the bloodworms at their current size unless they were chopped up.

I have always used Hikari sinking wafers (not algae wafers). Make sure you keep them very warm.

Im sorry im new but what does the L46 mean i see other people asking is this a L001 or is this a L66 whatr does it mean?

waitwaitwait. feed them poop. XD haha jk. I feed mine baby brine shrimp.
