New large female RTMs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks - I'm learning to hate that pottery though when I try to catch a small fish in the tank - not very successful
those pots are probably the only reason some of those smaller fish are still alive, like that Kribensis and the reason that Festae doesn't kill everything.

I'd keep a close eye on those RTMs......I underestimated mine and they are MEAN....and I mean friggin MEAN-TYPE-MEAN, knowhatiMEAN????

What state are you in? I have a male RTM if u want to breed them

I live in Atlanta - would love to try and breed them. Yeah, I've seen a few scars on some of the smaller ones and imagine the motas are doing it - but they are pretty sweet so far. Those Kribs are tough fish - I have a pair that breeds like crazy and I throw them in my larger tanks - for some reason, no one seems to bother them ever - even w/out a lot of cover - underated fish

Dude......I was a cichlid keeper for a looooong time, I had dozens of the most aggressive CAs in my collection at different times, and I got my 1st RTM this Spring.....

......it's 10X worse than any Midas, GT, JD, RD, Jag, blah blah, etc. He attacks fish twice his size and CONSTANTLY.....there is no safe place for other fish when you have an RTM :(

Big thanks to Cedric at SouthernAquaticsLFS for the RTMs. I've never had Motas and my son has REALLY been wanting one. Well, Cedric had two at home, w/ the request that I take both of his. Right now, they are not what I have heard in terms of aggression - real gentle and swim around like they are a gentle pair when they do come out. One is 8.25 TL and the other 7.5" - both are very chunky. I'll have to send more pics once they really settle in.

Thanks I'll keep a close eye on them, hopefully a male vs. female thing. They were nice in the tank they came from and really are nice here - so far...
