It's probably more expensive than around here, but pricing all depends on your location.

He is a damn good looking RD.. and he looks like he is already mature.. so i think he was worth what you paid.. they go for that here too.. if they have size to them. And his color is wonderful but will even be better as he settles in.. they lose some color under the stress of moving.. hope he eats good for you..

Cpl of questions. What part of MD are you in? Where did you get him? I love hitting new Fish Stores. Wasn't a bad price but you might have done better. If your'e happy that's all that matters.

OUch.. East is spendy for large cichlids :(

I think it is a beautiful midas cichlid.how big is it.u maid a good choice.

The point of the matter is you got a fish that is "not common", There is a good possibility that it will even loose the rest of the reds on its fins/eyes. If it turn out an "all white midas"- You can consider it rare in the hobby (but not extremely rare). I've did a search all over fish websites and have not seen an all white midas.
BTW, I do have one and at first it has some red on fins/eyes but now it all fade out and just all white color, pretty cool if you ask me.
The price of the fish is not bad either considering you did not buy the common orange ones or the common yellow ones.

Awesome pick.:headbang2

I don't see many large cichlids for sale around here. When I do they are usually Oscars, most in bad shape from being kept in small tanks with bad water conditions. The cheapest one of those I have seen is $45. I saw a 12" Jag that was a good looking fish for $45 as well.

It doesen't really matter what you paid for it, if you are happy with the purchase anyway. It is a cool, healthy looking fish.
