New life spectrum Cichlasomma

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It may be 'new' to the vendor that you purchased it from, but it isn't a new formula for New Life. The 2mm pellets are called Medium Fish formula, and they can be fed to any fish that can readily eat that size of pellet. (marine or freshwater)

When it comes to choosing a food from New Life, the most important thing is to choose a food that the fish can swallow whole. (less mess, less waste of food & money) While there are subtle differences in a number of the New Life formulas, the basic ingredients are all very similar.

South Antarctic Krill, Herring, Squid, Algae Meal, that consists of Seaweed, Kelp, and Haematococcus pluvialis (a micro algae), a premium grade of natural Spirulina, as well as a fruit & vegetable extract that consists of Spinach, Red & Green Cabbage, Peas, Broccoli, Red Pepper, Zucchini, Tomato, Kiwi, Apricot, Pear, Mango, Apple, Papaya, and Peach.

Sounds good. Thanks and yeah all their ingredients are pretty close all good stuff.

Even before I bought my first fish, I did a lot of research on different foods. There were so many good reviews on NLS that I decided that would be my choice. What clinched it was actually all the information supplied on the NLS site. They were able to explain to the layman why it was a better choice and since many hobbyists agreed I figured it would be a good choice.

Six tanks later with over a 150 peacocks, haps and mbuna I have to say it was a great choice of foods. Always great color, injuries from aggression heal quickly and fortunately never a sign of disease.

I did try a 3 mm pellet when some of my haps were getting to be 7" but they only mouthed it and created a great mess. I sold that pail to someone and now stick to 1 mm for everyone.

Yeah im gonna grab the 2mm they dont make a ton of mess but they definitely cannot swallow them hole. But then again I am used to watching super messy fish like oscars.

2mm is the stuff

I have been using that NLS for about 2yrs and when my tanks got bigger I had to buy bigger. The stuff works like a champ and yes there color has come out really well my Frontosa and other cichlids love the stuff and as posted before I would highly recomen this stuff.

I like the 3 mm stuff for all my 6 inch haps. My 10 inch bucco swallows these 3 mm's with ease. Any mess my 8 inch syno Angelicus gladly handles. The haps like to dig in the gravel bed an hour or so after a feeding. IMO they could never find the smaller stuff. Just my experiance though.

hmm My fish like it the bigger ones go nuts for it. I have been feeding a lot of the 1mm cichlid formula i got the 300 jar. Next time im going for a bucket of 2mm from Mike Dunagan and pharoa

Can I get a link to the NLS site? Sorry NM found it. Very interesting good stuff!
