New Life Spectrum Hex-Shield

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes, certainly. Praziquental (PraziPro) is an anthelmintic cestodicide which is effective at treating tapeworms, flatworms, & flukes. So if your loaches have tapeworms Prazi would do the trick.

Awesome! So I guess it's safe to say that if I treat with the hex pellets and followed by some prazipro or lev. I should be successful in purging whatever's causing the skinny disease. Thanks again

I would think that would do the trick, if not probably nothing will. Good luck!

I second RD and recommend feeding it to newly acquired-stressed out fish whom especially have weaker than other immune system.

I started feeding it to my new haiteinsis group of 8 around 1-2" and they love the taste; and are even eating it after having NLS flakes.

But jus as RD and the box says, not a diet food, I will use it as an intro food for 3 days and maybe once every few months jus to flush anything out
I mean jus look at these ingredients! Epsom salt being its main active!image.jpg

Definitly going into the arsenal...every fee months I feed epsom soaked pellets. Will replace with this

One thing to note, unlike epsom salt soaked pellets, this NLS product also contains Metronidazole - so it's not something that one should be using on a continuous basis, not even once every few months. Use the pellets as directed, and if you want to do a follow up treatment every few months I would recommend using 3% epsom salt soaked pellets. Excess magnesium sulphate is easily flushed out of the fishes system, Metronidazole has been shown to cause organ damage in fish when used in excess.

gonna try this as I have a heterospilus in qt that I noticed pooped (white and stringy) but is eating well. I wanted to add him to the main tank but not so sure now. Where does it say metro in the ingredients ?
