I got a new bulb for my 75, with Mr. GT in it. Its an 18,000k power-glo. The old bulb was just a GE plant and aquarium bulb. I liked the look of the 18,000k I had on the 29, which is why I switched. I am going to get a new fixture so I can have two bulbs though, because this one makes him look like a blue terror, not a green terror. What do you think? First pics are with the old bulb.

I actually like the old ones better...

and that stupid plant ruined a perfect shot :(

I like the new one better more natural.

So which one do you prefer? The top pics are with the new light, and the bottom with the old light. Did you guys get confused by that?

What do you prefer the actual real look of though? Unless you're a white balance nazi (Want a guide, I wrote one for a journal entry and I've got it sitting here) then your photos with different Kelvin lights are going to be different. Might just be that your cameras auto white balance function picked up the coldness of your old tube better than it has on your new 18K.

Personally I like the new globe better anyway, much stronger whites. I'm adding a 20K to my tank to go alongside the 3 10K's I'm running.

The photos are pretty accurate, actually. I don't mess with the settings on the cam either. (I wouldn't know what to do) But I think the new bulb looks a lot different if he is in the back of the tank, versus the front, because the side you see will be brighter towards the back of the tank.
The new pics are also slightly blurry.

I like the new light, brings out the color more. i have the 18k power glo and a 460nm actinic (in T5) and i love how it makes the blue colors really stand out on fish. here's some crappy pics of mine...
