I went out and bought some new lighting to replace the standard strip lights in my hoods. I picked up one power glow and a life glo both 18" for my 90 gallon cichlid tank. It looks pretty good, the life glo gives off a nice soft sun mid day light but not so soft as to it doesn't get to the bottow of the tank, and the power glo is a nice white color with barely a tint of purple in it. If I had a real camera I could get some good shots that really show it. But here it is anyways...

You should try the new HO T5 fixtures. They really make the tanks sparkle. The tank looks good, I prefer the Life Glo 2 color.

The life glo2 is a T8 light, I do prefer the life glo tint also wlydfya i've been contimplating taking the power glo back for another life glo.

why not try power compacts?
T5 HO's main advantage is cost-effectiveness plus it gives out better light

I just got a dual 36" T5 HO fixture (Hagen Glo) and there's no comparison to regular strip lights...it's amazing.
