New lil' Caiman Lizard info?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
how much are you getting these for if you don't mind me asking ;)
still looking for a tegu but a caiman lizard could be a nice substitute

The caiman "pit" is 6x4x4 and currently has the turtles and fish that lived with the caiman lol. It's gonna have to go in something a bit smaller for now :D

wish u were closer. id take some of ur caiman friendly turtles off ur hands.....since u dont need them

From everything I have read, their main diet is apple snails...

Their main wild diet perhaps, although they eat other invertes like crayfish and mussels. Just like Blue Tongue Skinks natural diet is also snails, same with White throat monitors. Captive animals are often fed different things.

Treat them like a Water Monitor.......Care and Diet is no different......

Good to know, thanks for the info! Just got him home, about 18" long. I'll put up pics tomorrow.

Well, it's been three days and no dice with getting him to eat. Left some crushed apple snails in the cage, hopefully that'll do the trick.
