is that normal behavior? i have him in a 30 gal with a lil live rock and i know im going have to upgrade in the future. its housed with a domino damsel (if the lion eats it its ok) and an anenome. Does anyone know how i can get that purple algae on my live rock to grow more? i have these lights on my 30 gal rite now: 2 t5's a daylight and one that is actinic blue
something like this:

the coralline algae will grow on its own slowly spreading there is a product called purple up that works in speading up the process of spreading it. if you are refering to him kinda hiding yes its normal. nice lookin lion fish btw.

Very nice lionfish. I would not dose anything you can'ttest for. Also if you add to much calcium you will drive your alk down and that is no good. If you have a alk of 2.0 DKh and calcium of 400ppm then your tank will not grow coraline or corals. Just do water changes and be patient. Good luck.

Sweet! Lionfish are one of my favorite saltwater fish.

nice... one of the most relaxing fish I've ever had

Once you move it to a bigger tank and grows it should move around more

nice!!!

im getting one for my 30 gal also....the dimensions are different though. 24x 18 x 18 (or 16)

what do you feed him/her? livefood? frozen squid?idk..canyou feed them bait? like anchovies and squid....chunks of mackerel? sounds like a cheap (but messy) alternative to the market foods:D

Nice fish. They are ambush predators so they tend to lerk in and around the rocks. What species is it?
