new look juvi tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you are also going to have very heavily peppered fish with that dark background and substrate. they are already starting to pepper. sorry, but you could'nt have bought a worse discus for that tank. any discus with pigeonblood genes need a light substrate and background.

funny u say that dee ... theyve been in the new tank for 3-5 days and already they look completely different ... no peppering at all, its all gone !!

i only picked them up in the first place because the price was right and being labeled "black pigeons" intrigued me ... the breeder had a whole story of how great they will look when they mature ... but im thinking they are going to be a basic pigeon ... i guess time will tell

You have the right idea with the tank lay out if your were raising Sub Adults/Adults! But, in this case you are raising Juvies and only 3 at that. You really should have a minimum of 5 or 6 Discus in your tank just to ease the stress... They are schooling fish! Juvies require multiple feedings and CLEAN PRISTINE water which requires lots of water changes! You do that for Juvies so you achieve a MAXIMUM growth potential and a healthy stock!
it does look like the fish you have are stunted! Based on the body proportion "Football shape" and The large eyes!
