no worries on the pics :) your description seems to match that of a lot of annectens i have seen, so i am pretty sure that is what species you have. with your description of its condition, it sounds like a great fish and should be with you for a long time!
i wouldnt worry about it not eating yet, lungfishes can be somewhat shy about eating early on (varies with the individual of course). keep in mind not only can they go without food for a very long time, but they dont even need to be fed every day (a fish of that size, i wouldnt feed more than 2-3 times a week).
i'm sure your fish will come around, so maybe wait another day and try again. keep us posted and good luck with your new fish!--

Thanks for all the replys, sadly i do not have a camera right now,so i'll answer some of your questions as best i can.
I placed a piece of talipa fillet in the tank this morning, and it's still there when i returned home from work i'll try something diff. tomorrow.
I saw the pics. of the marbled lf,and as good looking as it is,mine doesn't look anything like it,but mine does have spots similar on the front half, and they get washed out a bit farther back on the body.
That annectens is a really beautifully marked specimen i'm jealous a little bit!Well i must be off to help make dinner tonight
