New Mayan cichlid, someone tell me about them?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice Mayan. They get about 12" max and are fairly aggressive. It depends on the individual fish. How big is this fish? $20 isn't bad for an adult IMO.

What a great fish these guys are. Ill throw a list down for ya about them

-12 inches but can reach up to 16
- very aggressive and territorial
-although they don't get true red terror colors they make it up with a better personality.
-very easy to breed with the right size tank
-don't always like tankmates

From what I see in your pic $20 well spent. Looks a lil roughed up but very nice colors and bars

12" and i would guess thats a male. They can surely hold their ground in with ca/sa aggressive fish. Ive had them with jags, midas, oscars ect

Definitely a male. Every individual is different. Mine is very calm, doesn't eat the much smaller Africans he's with, and only asserts his dominance is a short chase. Others I have seen would rip YOUR face off ass soon as they'd eat a price of food. Keep an eye on him to be sure.

Very nice gt. They will look good together if they can learn to live with one another
