New medium size bowfin

im not sure how big they will get in that tank. One thing i do know is it prolly needs a bigger one. Im about 6 foot. give or take an inch. Ive caught bowfin where i live longer than my leg. These fish get VERY big. Make sure you have a good cover over the tank, these fish love to jump. they are also very mean. Think hard about tankmates if you decide to get any. They will probably become food however.
nice fish! i always wanted a bowfin, but i worried about their compatability with gar. however, a saw one with some gar at the baltimore aquarium and now i'm conisdering one...
They would love small crayfish as a fav treat. Earthworms and cut up fillets should work best. Sweet pickup!
mines not very aggresive and does fine with his tank mates a pike cichlid, florida gar, and a convict. very tuff fish, loves to jump so keep something heavy on the lid and keep a towel nearby. mine tries to splash me when im about to feed lol. picked imne up at the same place to
