I caught mine at 3 and 3 1/2inches and they wouldnt eat earthworms or any cichlid pellets at first. It took several weeks of them eating scuds (which I highly recommend you to find some small scuds) baby crickets and redworms before I even attempted to feed them cichlid sticks; and when I did I soaked them for a minute in cod liver oil and water in a lid before I fed it to them (dont let them stay too long or they fall apart...just long enough to make them soft).

Well i have tried crickets, were do i get red worms, earthworms dont work and they eat the pellets sometimes, but what are scuds and were can i get them

Just give them some time and they will come around. Sunfish aren't particularly picky. If you have other fish eating around them, they will probably get the idea quickly. Are they alone?

Scuds or Gammarus are a freshwater shrimp that lives in weeds and underwater plants near the shore in lakes and slow moving rivers. They look like a pillbug in the water with longer legs.
