hello to every one. if any one has any DIY for a good size tank for NEWBIE to keep largemouth bass in aquariums. i have a pass experience with saltwater fish. i had a red tomato clown fish. i had to sell with tank and equipment.

Well, depends on what your plans are, but you will eventually need a tank that is 2 ft deep and 8 feet long. Bass can be trained to take just about any food, and I recommend you stay away from goldfish. A high quality pellet would be great. Bass also love plants and cover, so some grassy type plants and driftwood would make for some great aquascape.

dude thanks. i had a bad experience with goldfish as feeders with a a small oscar. the oscar became sick and dead. back to the bass i was think of buy a 250gallon fish from petland. Any recommendations??

Yeah, a 250 or 265 would be a great tank for life, IMO. Go with Hikari or Omega One pellets, and better yet, get both and mix them. Water changes once a week are necessary. By the time your bass figures out where the food comes from, you will want to keep your hands away from his face, or you'll get bit.

thanks dude, i was looking at some of the DIY projects here and would like to try build one my self. what DIY do you recommend?? I want to build a tank where i can house and be able to breed largemouth and small mouth bass. i know i'll have to have a small aquarium for crayfish, shinners,

I'm kind of a noob myself, but to breed bass.....you need a pretty big tank. plus I don't know that it has been done in aquaria, certainly there are bass farms but they are huge and really just lakes that aren't connected to any other water source.

yea as i told you lat night ivan really the bigger the better you know how big there spawning beds are your look at at least 500 i think personally coming from the fishermans standpoint you can keep them in 200;s but you want a lot of space in there, lot of plants and as well what you said about half san for breeding area and gravel deeper, you could probably have a couple little pods of sunfish, lot of money for a big tank how big can you go? haha

im thinking of building a 500G. im going to ask for some assistance from a friend that is a contractor. see if i can get some discount on the equipment..

fishyz thanks dude. after i finish the tank and purchase the bass from the hatchery. I'll try to keep a active log of the fish's activities.
