As an aside though, remember not long ago when a pacu was caught in (I believe) Maryland? The state zoologist Ided it as a piranha, it took a bit of convince but the newspaper did correct it self, mainly due to members of this site.

As for new members and their questions/statements I am pretty good at getting a feeling from a persons opening post as to weather they want to ask us for info or they just want to basically say "how come you guys say its this way when credible sources such as petco,petsmart, my LFS and even the fish section on Yahoo Answers says otherwise?!"
this must have made some people mad because all the sudden there is brand new members saying that I dont know crap and that tey know that everything I say is BS even in PMs oh well let them think they are getting the upperhand I just sit back and laugh at their meager attempts to taint my credibility
She actually continued to follow up on that and made the correction, unfortunately there seems to be a glitch in finding old threads since the skin change, still trying to find it.
I used to get annoyed by some of the novice unsubstantiated arguments to info I post. But, I came to realize that, in the end, I really don't give a s____ if my information is believed or not anymore. So long as my fish are OK, in my view, I could care less about anyone else's fish when they argue with me without any backup references. Plus, any unsubstantiated arguments leads me to never return to that thread again. They're on their own from that point on as far as I'm concerned.
