Piranha are a definite no, they will eventually kill and eat anything in their tank.

Like others have said, most tank mates that are similar in size should be fine. I'd recommend staying away from big aggressive cichlids as they can harass a small scomb to death.

Agreed - Only red bellies with red bellies and cichlids will eat all the vamps food.
