So the ice season has started and I’m having trouble finding fish. This is the lake I have been fishing.

And this is where I have tried

The lake has brook trout so I have been fishing shallow 15ft all the way to 4 feet with no luck
Let me know where you would fish

Try fishing some deeper water. (It looks like you are fishing over a flat). The shallow vegetation they normally prefer there has probably died by now. As a result the fish move deeper into the water column to find sufficient habitat/food. Look for points on the lake that taper to deeper water. Also, If there is a stream/creek leading into the lake, that could be a good area to try as well.
Good luck!

I always thought that during cold weather fish tended to gather in deeper water. There's an obvious deeper area in that lake shown on the diagram. Worth a shot?

For any other fish I would 100% be fishing deeper water but trout are pretty much un affected by the cold and tend to stick to the shallows (8 feet or less).

Trout are generally unaffected by the cold but only if there is adequate habitat/forage available for them. If not they will move around trying to locate suitable conditions.Trout are much more resilient then the prey, and vegetation they rely on. Currently, the usual depth of 8ft or less might be too cold to support the environment they need.
