awsome devil i have a baby 3in devil what are you feeding to get him so big mine is not growing i feed shrimp and pellets he doesn't seem to want anything but flakes.

I just got this guy so he's been this size. I am feeding good quality pellets and frozen foods 2-3 times a day, but I am also doing frequent large water changes to maintain good water quality.

Baby devils will grow very slowly if their only diet is flakes. I would suggest not offering flakes anymore. Offer pellets a few times a day and remove after a few hours if uneaten. After a few days of pouting he should get hungry enough to eat, and a few days without food won't hurt him.
 
all 8 of my midevils have that same spangling on there fins. completely common. mine came from 2 diff sources so no that is not a trait to say it is a flowerhorn just because of that. the only thing i can say because of that trait is that the fish is in good health, eating a good quality diet, and has nice clear water.
