Yes it is cumingi 
, there are only 4 in the UK .. the flash has knocked all the colour from it .. its actually very bright yellow and orange. I also took the pics just after I got it home so it was a little stressed and cool.
Its an incredibly calm lizard and yes is quite happy to sit on my lap, I have the ornate and my male tegu the same, they are all fine to wander the house. The female tegu and the argus are both very flighty though, the argus will tail whip, scratch and hiss, but has never bitten.
it ate 3 rats this morning and has an incredible feeding response ... I think that I am going to enjoy this animal for a very very long time.

That is a very nice animal. You should be very proud. I had some water babies earlier this year. I had a pair of timors for 2yrs that were very cool, a red tegu, a savannah, 7+ foot ornate nile and an argus. Here are the pics.

It looks very cool. Call me a wuss, but I like furry animals so I could never have a reptile like that
