these species arent to hard to find in aus.. and peter's quite the perfectionist ;)
for the amount of money we spend on rare fish in australia your gonna want them all class and a 100%, we dont take chances..

I would be the same way. I mean it's money were talking about basicly. I would want top notch myself. And you never know how it's look after maturing it could get worse. By any means take care of the fish no mater what.

Hey boost, Should I be worried about the way their head is shaped or is this normal, I have spoken to the guy I purchased them from and he is prepared for me to return them, I just don't want to spend good money on deformed fish

it is normal for hybrids to be deformed like that. from being mixed and breed over and over with brothers and sisters the line of cichla start to look funny.. personally i am not a big fan of deformity. start saving some money wit silver dragon and i will attempt to send you guys some good stuff.

lol they will look ugly.. check out some of the trusts' old cichla you'll see the ones with the deformed noses.

OK so here is the update.
Deformed Bass have been returned to their original owner, I guess I am to pedantic to keep deformed fish I know it must sound shallow but I just couldn't see myself looking at those deformities for life.

I have 1 new Mono with no deformities and 2 to come next week They did cost m,e a little more than the deformed guys but I guess thats the price you pay for perfection. ;)

I will post some pics when he settles.

Just tell me what it's going to cost bro and the money will be there :grinno:

nice bro...get some pics of the new guys.
personally,i wouldnt mind a mono with just a deformed snout.
as long as they are healthy and eating well.
but i guess it wouldnt make such a nice show tank if you had deformities.

i can't stand deformed fish but i do have one... he wasn't always that way but took a hard blow from one of my old wild monos, i seen it happen in front of me and i couldn't believe... but other wise all my other deformed fish got traded... i know the feeling, unless he is a favorite then he needs it needs to go.
