later today... im found a local source has black pcv pipes... so im going there in a few min...

They're illegal.. LOL

Seriously :headbang2 for getting it going..

Seriously ...thank you so much for doing this....You just saved me a tons of time and money for my setup and you don't even know it lol..

I am planning on running mine with a sump as well as the ultima filter, The sump is not for filtration, simply for refugium purpose and equipment hideout.

The sump will more likely be a 180. I can partition the tank into refugium /grow out (with flexible divider), heater, probes and all equipment and of course the return area with an external pump (I am running a little giant).

This will serve for more water volume, more turn over rate and more grow out / safe haven for injured fish.

i say go with close loop.. and just use the 180 as another setup.... think how much water you need to hold when power goes out... :)

the tank and plumbing looks great wang! what's between the tank and stand?

plywood and Styrofoam ... pee

so you took a pee on the styrofoam and plywood before putting the tank on :nilly::ROFL:

LOL

Bloody fantastic tank mate  , I am getting one of similar demensions made next year only in glass.
I am tossing up between 3.5' or 4' wide at the momment but otherwise exactly the same.
Acrylic though in Australia is out of the question as far as costs go, I was qouted 11 grand by one company to make one :WHOA: .
Having a small market sucks but glass is fine with me but acrylic would be better as far as weight goes. I look forward to more pics though and I am paying close attention to your filtration set up and ideas.
I think I am going to run a sump filtration set up as ultima's aren't available in Australia and I am try to keep the costs of down as much as possible.
I want to run a large multi chambered sump with two inflows one from the top of the tank (surface) and one from the bottom and one or two sumbmersible pumps for return to the tank. So I am planning on the tank to have two drilled exit and return bulk heads probably on the ends though and not the back like yours.
I have a large Laguna 8000UVC canister I may try to use for additional filtration, I know it's unconventional but one of the submersibles could pump throught it on it's return to the tank.
I am not going to go for your turn over rate, I am thinking of using two 3500L-4000L submersibles like the RIO 17HF or 20HF in my sump for returns.
Your set up though is truely inspiring and very professional I await your updates and any comments and useful tips that you may be able to provide me with :) .

Yes in the thought that no one will want to steal it if it's got pee on it..
