Just like it smaller cousin the striped raphael catfish, the spotted raphael catfish and the gentle giant, the ripsaw catfish. This catfish is NO gentle catfish. It's a predatory Doridae species called Granulated catfish (Pterodoras granulosus). They can grow really big about similar size to the ripsaw catfish.

It's about 13" long right now.

Doradidae are not predatory that I know of.

From planetcatfish.com : "These catfish are not predatory but would mistakenly take a smaller fish if hungry."

Well it will eat live fish such weather loaches and midas cichlid every time I feed my fish, even though it ate pelltes already. They also have that tiny sand paper like teeth. Similar to other predatory catfish. Each fish have their own personal taste and probably from different region that they got caught. Mine wouldn't even eat any plant matter that I put in for my plecos.

I have no experience with these. But I can certainly see them hunting down small fish, they have the mouth for it.

Great looking fish.

I got 2 . So far growth rate is very slow. 1 is 6" and the other is 8". Mine dun eat small fish cos I keep with alot of smaller tankmate. Love pellet..love to eat alot too. I still think niger grow much faster than it by x2
