Well i tried it with the jar. I had lights off and moved tank around. Introduced wolf and it was non stop flaring from wolf. Jar would keep circling him trying to nip his fins. I think if the wolf put him in check once it would be fine. But jar is in another tank. Im gonna,let wolf settle and try it again. Heres a crappy pic. They had just kicked up a bunch of sand in a circling and flaring competition
Anyone wanna bets the Jar will be a gonner if it bite the wolf first? LOL

Depending on the wolf, this may not be the case. The wolf may just put the jar in its place. My wolf has been bit first by some of the fish it's with now, he gave them a good bite and they leave him alone, he chases them shortly sometimes, but he doesn't outright try to kill them. However if he got a particularly aggressive specimen, then yes I agree with you, letting it settle first was the wrong choice and should've tried to let the jar put him in his place.
Plan on keeping the three together? I've had no luck keeping my curu with jags, it sucks as they're basically the only cichlids I like, he's killed any one I put with him to date, but in his defense, the size difference was a little drastic. Like 10" for the curu and 6" give or take for the jag
