New Monster (Mormyrops anguiloides)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think I have got to separate the Cornish Jack to a species tank. He has not been fighting however he never comes out to hunt during the day and I have not seen him come out of his pipe at night at all. When I look at him in his PVC pipe he seems healthy though. I think in about a month or two I'm going to move my young Silver Arowana into the 360 gallon permanently with my Black Arowana.

I decided to check on the Cornish Jack and removed his PVC pipe, and even though he is the most reclusive aquarium fish I have ever kept, he has grown about an inch since I purchased him. Which is faster growth than I expected:popcorn:.

Here's a couple of good links. It looks as though Cornish Jacks can be kept together.

Here's updated pictures of my Cornish Jack. I rarely ever see him however he has grown a lot.

He's growing fast and I rarely ever see him though. I just wake up in the morning and all the feeders are gone. Swear it has got to be a total nightmare for feeders in this tank. If they survive the three Cichla in the tank during the day then they are hunted all night long by a Cornish Jack.

I'm going to attempt to improve the pictures I have been taking.

That is such a beastly fish. Its a shame there's not more of them being kept!

Mine I'm keeping with Peacock Bass and an electric blue Jack Dempsey and there has been no fighting. The store where I got him has got another and I'm tempted to buy the second one and start a school of these monsters. Some say it cannot be done while I have seen tanks that have kept them in groups before. All being I have not got a tank for two giants meaning I although tempted I'm just going to stay with this one for now.
