Thanks!

Very nice, never seen a young Blackbelt so brightly colored

It may have more to do with my lighting, I'm running a Marineland double LED strip with blue painter's tape over half of the bulbs on the ends, which makes for a bluish hue over the ends of the tank. I like the spotlight-effect.

The fish seem to be getting along well but I can tell by now that one of the BB's is definitely the dominant one. Nothing serious as far as I can tell though, they're all too busy begging for food most of the time when I'm in the room. I will watch for further aggression as suggested.

What size tank do you guys think I should spring for to house all 4 fish after 6 months - 1 year? I know the Datnoid will be the slowest growing of the bunch, but I'd like to get a tank that will be their ultimate home when they are full sized.

180 should be okay for adult sizes if the Blackbelts prove to be of a peaceful disposition

Takes work, time and patience for a front tank. Well worth it in the end though.

Gotcha, I think I'll be scouring Craigslist this summer for one, if everything goes well

I hear ya! I lost count of how many different varieties of food I bought to settle on a food routine that the fronts approved of, they loved NLS in the first few months but just completely lost interest in them recently, and would only take flakes or food that stayed off the sand. Occasionally they would eat the NLS if they felt like it, but I definitely lost my patience with the growth rate and constant attention, and their skittish behavior. Hopefully they went to a better home with a more patient caretaker lol. I did feel it would be worth it in the end when they get to near-adult sizes since they are so beautiful when grown; maybe I'll try again after I raise this new group. :)
