I don't have any personal experience with them, and I only know what I have read about them. Here is a link with some info. Go to species, then species9.

Yours has very little of the batman defect though compared to these rays. So your ray should have almost no trouble at being a normal ray.

very neat!

Tony,

I have $50 that says he kicks the crap out of your larger ray three months from now.

The "batman" defect in these is not severe and does not seem to hinder them in any way.

For those of you that have never kept a captive bred ray, you are really missing out. They are tough animals that grow very quickly. I would also say that they are more aggressive and much more willing to compete for food than some of the wild caughts that I have kept in the past.

Although I do not like the defect at all, they do make for interesting conversation. This ray should grow up to be very happy and healthy.

BTW....I love the geos.

Good luck with him,

Colin

Stop colin! i have 3 more rays comming next week and i dont wana see a blood bath just yet :D i want everyone happy and fat! :headbang2

I'm not worried about the little fella. He seems to be a fiesty little bastard so far, but I'm hopeing he won't have any problems when I put him in with my bigger ray.

The little guy only seems to only eat well when the lights go out and my bigger ray gobbles up everything as soon as it hits the sand.

Think he'll be a little quicker to the food with some competition???

I can't wait to see the two interact.:naughty:

I just don't want the little guy to get beat to the food everyday. Remember, a skinny ray is a dead ray. :(

Or a ray that can fit in a nice bikini

i understand,

you just need to get into your own feeding regimen for him and all will work out nicely.
