why? planted nanos with shrimps are awesome.

no... that would be OS. dwarf chain loaches get to 3" each and that would not provide enough swimming room, and there is not enough room for a proper school of dwarf cories in a 2.5G. you'd be best off trying a M/F pair of sparkiling gouramis, BB gobies, or scarlet badis; or a single betta.

If I don't see a Scarlet Badis, I will go for BB gobies. How about some of those mini rasboras? Or a pygmy arapaima?

i think I saw one of these today at my LFS. it was planted and stocked with a male betta, 4 neon tetras and some ghost shrimp. looked quit impressive. I would put a betta in there, lets people see that bettas do more than just sit there. May even help you sell a couple.

How many of these can I keep? I like the color.

I don't mean at the lfs, I meant at my real job. I don't want a betta, I already have a pair in a five gallon at home, and one in a ten with some community fish. I love Bettas, but I want something else.

Ah I see sorry I misunderstood, how about dwarf puffers. They are cool little dudes, I want to set up a 10g for these myself, but got to much going on right now.

Never kept dwarf puffers, might look into that too.

What do you mean? the orange color looks great on a black background. Should I buy peeled or unpeeled?

pygmy rasboras are pretty small, but they need pretty big schools so are better suited for a 5G. you could do 1-2 BB gobies, but they are BW fish so you'd need to make to SG about 1.005.

a single dwarf puffer may work, but they are generally incredibly active for their size and are messy eaters, so a 5G is generally the minimum reccomended tank size, although I suppose it is possible to keep one in a 2.5G.
