Actually, fish should not be kept in glass boxes. Every fish needs at least a lake if not an ocean to be happy.

 How can a fish be happy if there are predators?

My philosophy is that a fish need 10 gallons plus the space it need.

ie. If a fish need 5 gallons, then it should be in a 15 gallons tank. If a shoaling fish need about 0.5 gallon per fish, then in a school of 50... 25 gallons and so on.

I saw the Scarlet Badis, I'll probably get a pair of those.

you mean 35 right? 25 plus 10.
what about just a few cardinal tetras? they r really really really cool little fishes!

Wow... I calculated that to be 15 gallons... not 25. Wonder how tired I was when I wrote that.

Shrimps are cool though.

at one of my LFS's they have a tiny tank up at the register with a really small power head, some sand, a beach of sorts, some kind of grassy plant, and mudskippers. The mudskippers would go up onto the beach to sunbathe under their lamp and then go back into the water... it was completely awesome. They'd feed 'em crickets.

Yeah, those are nice looking little fish.

Alright, I got some damn shrimps. I'll admit that they are pretty cool.

NOOOO!!!!
the cardinals!

I got two shrimp, one was a cherry. It's just to start. I will probably get a couple endlers, a couple Scarlet Badis, and a couple Pygmy Cories. Cardinals are out, they get too big. They are sweet though.
