Clicker training is a good idea. My buddy's parrot has his own clicker because he likes the sound so much, keeps him from plucking out his feathers. That's how much he likes that sound.
I'm taking it that you've kept a macaw before?
 
Thats a Quaker right? Theres a colony of them right by where I work. They seem to have found a way to overwinter in Chicago. Nice pickup ;)

no macaws, living in an apartment..i'd have the cops called on me lol
..i have a 15 year old umbrella cockatoo that i've clicker trained..he's an awesome bird
