all of these fish listed are currently on the 'grey list' of fish in oz. all fish on the grey list will be on the noxious list on the 7th of november, unless delayed by protests (of which there is a thread here http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=183703)

if a fish is on the noxious list it is illegal to sell, buy, or even keep them.

hey i didn't see this thread

man this sucks hey!! it won't achieve anything positive by doing this. why can't they look into a little deeper rather than taking the easy way out. damn government!!!

Honestly this is pretty bad if you are in the fish hobby. Everything good is in that list. I guess that your only option may be keeping native fish. Natives may not be a bad thing. GL

So does this mean you can keep species from the same genus that aren't listed? Like for instance you can't keep parachromis managuense but you could keep parachromis Loiselli because it isn't listed??? If so, that is a major loophole and there is hope for you guys down under.

as far as i know, yes.

im still hoping that the government won't go through with it, or it is just a rumor.

This is BS!
Are they really gonna do it? :irked::cry:

i hope not, but it seems they are. im going around trying to buy any of the fish on the list, so far ive got a texas cichlid, and there is a jaguar cichlid really cheap (around $10) at a nursery/aquarium/pond specialist. they might suffer because of this, they make alot of their money off koi, which are on the list.

wow!! I would run a coup de tat on the government and legalize all fishies!!! Except salt water fish because they are the devil!!! goodluck with all of that...keep reptiles!!!
