New NTT Datnoid =)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah man... 2 flagtails!!!!! seperate soon, or one will kill the other eventually.

It's not risky keeping baby dats with bigger ones. Why, cause
it has been done a zillion times with success. ( there r exeptions, but I only recall 2 deaths as a result of big&little combo)

I Currently have 3 nr. 1.5 inchers, all in with tigers of 11, 10, 9 , 8 , 6, 4 inch etc. No probs.

prochilodus killing each other? I mean I have seen them fight before and I do know they do fight and get agressive within the their own kind but I dont think prochilodus could actually kill each other in a fight.

You don't have to believe me if you want, but yes they can.

I would be more worried of the prochilodus killing each other than the dats. You will most likely end up with only one. I have heard of dats with a much larger size difference living together with no problems. GL ;)
+ 1
I had 3 prochilodus and 2 of them killed my favorite one:(.
I was going to trade them in to the fish store too but was too busy.
Dats don't seem to eat dats.

Come on Pufferfreak, you already sent me a PM asking the same question. And I gave you the same answer. Vanimate knows his fish, take his advice. ;)

I think having any tank mates with small ITs except themselves is dangerous. Sometimes my Giant danios jump on to the datnoid side and they nip the hell out of their fins. So not even danios are fine
Come on guy....your largest dat is what, a quarter size, and your smallest is the same? We here speak from experience, not what we read.

OP, for the dat's. it is really uncommon for them to eat there own, but it can and might happen. Just be cautious about the mix...
The ntt still are settling in, but when they get conformable, watch out...especially during feeding.

Big Dats and small Dats can be mixed...FF tend to fight to the death.
