New odd shaped tank, have questions.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would skip the driftwood if your doing africans and rock it up :) I second the tropheus idea, would make a really really nice display in that tank with a centered rock stack veiwable on all sides. highly active interesting fish with lots of personality.

Now that I've been looking around the site more i think this tank will become a sump for something much bigger. What type of rocks to use? I see allot of round rocks but i can imagine they would look like a pile of snowballs. And I don't want it to look like a house of cards like slate stone tend to do. Dry rock from marine tanks can stack high and look real nice real natural. Is there anything like that I could use?

Really anything. I have seen lots of tanks with rip rap (just google it, should be available at a landscaping place) and they look really nice.

A little expensive, but nothing looks better in a african cichlid tank than holey rock.
