its got 2 250 watt halides, 4 65 watt PCs and 12 either half or 1 watt leds (they are bright)
works great! i love it so far. the blue PCs look like crap tho. they are bein replaced today with coral lifes and possibly replace the halides too just bc. my lfs owner found some really nice ones on sale for me so i will prob pick those up :)
let me know what you think guys. i think odysea is stepping up there game now.

I use the Odyssea fixtures. They work just fine. They wont hold up forever, but thats not necessary in my opinion. I have 2 36" fixtures over my 300 gallon tank.

this one seems pretty sturdy. not the best but for sitting ontop of a tank it should last a while.
its a fairly thin fixture and still doesnt get very hot with the halides and pcs on. i was supprised how effective the fans are. the PC bulbs are the only thing i have noticed that are off. they almost look greenish. they are supposed to be actinics. i thought the halide was off too but once it burned for a while it turned nice and white. they are so cool how they fade on.

With prices like these, you can afford to replace them once a week.

Eager to see how they work for you, and more eager to get you growing some corals!

lol yea. i replaced the bulbs with xm 15ks and true actinic PCs it looks great. also got a monster timer that has everythin done for me :)

just ordered mine and will also be replacing the power compacts as well. That seems to be the new hype about these lights is that the actinics arent "true" actinics.

Can you elaborate on this? How cheap are they? Where is the best place to get them?

I assume that scalesandfins fixture is a 48 inch, that is the same length I would need.

I think he ordered his from www.aquatraders.com

I should really be getting a commission from those people. I hate that they arent USA made, but for that price...its hard to beat.

Thanks, you had mentioned that site before to me as well, I was just curious.

I am pretty sure you said you have used some of their light systems. Have you done any PAR testing? How do they compared to other setups?

I know you said they aren't the best of units and may not last long term, but for that price, especially the replacement bulb costs, I am interested.
