New Odyssea P160 protein skimmer

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have the odyssea ps 75 and i tried to mesh mod the ex250 that came with it. Lets just say it doesn't work out very well. I got less water, foam, amd bubbles. I got just got a new impeller and let it go for now.

I would like to use one of the newer pin wheel pumps with a mesh mod and see how they do. I think they would work nicely. But i would have to make sure the pump had the same thread patter as the ex250 so i didn't get leaks or no fit at all.

I am curious to try it out, but I am fairly pleased with the performance as it sits.

My aunt just got a coralife skimmer....the directions were off, but we were able to put it together. Lots of foaming...bulky looking but it works. I'm curious as what is generally the most used and bulletproof skimmer model out thier...talken about one's with models that ranges from 75 gallons and up. I've been thinking about reefdevil, but is it really worth $250 for a 72 gallon tank....

I use Reef Octopus skimmers at the moment and they are awsome. I'm still shoping for a skimmer that is not so expensive for a big tank 200g+ because the RO skimmers for big tanks cost some serious $$

This is the biggest model that AquaTraders carries and its rated for 160 gallon tank, but after my plumbing problems are solved I think I would recommend it for the money.

Yes, they are working for me now, for some reason last night I couldnt see them.

How dark is your skimmate? I cant really see skimmate in any of the pictures, although it is clear you are generating a TON of bubbles.

Ya, looks like a good amount of bubbles to me too. I assume you had just cleaned out the collection cup and that the bubbles are making it over the rim?

A bit lighter than coffee. Haven't collected too much and that pic was second day it was on. There isn't too much but the tank doesn't have many fish and only a couple months old now.
