I just went to the lfs to buy some plants n food... I saw an ornate bichir in a tank n checked it out... they didnt have the price tag so i asked how much he cost... they had him listed as some sort of eel... got it for 5 bucks! The problem is hes still too small to go in with ym other senegalus bichirs... I needa power feed this puppy so he can catch up bit. I have a 6 gallon tank setup... which i know is too smallbut hes only about 3 inhes right now...
i figure i can power feed him in there till hes big enough...
wats the fastest way to get these fish up to sizE?

mine has been growing very quickly on hbh pellets and krill.

Here I took some pics of the lil guy... this way you can see how big he is compared to the other guys... you think hed get eaten if i put him in with them?

feeding a variatie will be best for growing, and you could lower the temp, if you raise the temp then it is supposed to raise metabolism.

Clean water, several small meals per day instead of one or two big meals, variety of foods including a good quality pellet, temp low 80's should help-Anne

i think he's big enough, from the pic it looks like he's only an inch or so smaller then the senegal.

think about perspective, the senagal is farther away then the ornate, the sen is way bigger.

i bet u the price of that fish, that the senegal doesn't eat it. i think my view was off by an inch. looks to be smaller by 2 or 2.5 inches, i still think it'll be fine

I doubt the sen would eat the lil ornate, but you do have to keep an eye out for biting.

Nice ornate btw
