Hi,
We gust got an Oscar from PetSmart. Please no flack about PetSmart because where I am, my choices are very limited unless I order on line and I like to see the fish that I am buying when I can.
We bought a 3" red, plump. swimming all over the place and no sign of illness Oscar.
1/2 hour home in a large air bag. Held in lap to keep stable and warm. Heater in car going. Established Q tank at 76 degree and 7.0 pH. 35 plus years years in fish keeping. First Oscar.

With all that said, after we got her home and started floating her for twenty minutes and adding a cup of tank water every five minutes to the bag, she is laying almost motionless on the bottom of the tank after release. She stays upright for the most part.

Has this happened with your Oscar or like fish? Because I never have.
What are the chances of it making it?:(

Yes both my tigers did this! They will get over it. I thght somethin was wrong wit mine but there fine no worries! But it also took mine a week to eat

Thanks for the info.
I had a lot of real nice street rods and then came kids......by ...by my love!

yeah typical O behavior they are pretty emotional as you will learn now that you have one, don't be surprised if it does this after water changes as well lol, n yeah dont worry about getting it from petsmart a lot of people on here including myself have very limited choices in local fish availability, on here you will get flamed on how you keep your fish not on where you got them from :)

This may be the quickest thread to end in history. At the point of her laying on her side my wife was joking around and said if she is a drama queen then she might like some dim lights and soft music.
Well that sparked in my mind that stressed fish like dim light so I turned the tank light out and lift the room light on. Immediately she started swimming all over the tank!
Drama queen to the max. I thought she was toast for shure.

HAHA WELCOME to the world of Os lol
