  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
haha I wouldnt be to happy if someone threw me in a cage drive me across town and said this is your new home. He is starting to come out a lot more. Ive noticed he tries to hide from me, until I put food in the tank he fights it but cant stop himself from coming after the food. Thank you everyone for your input.

Just an update. He is doing much better now. Everytime i walk near the tank he demands i feed him. If i change his water he goes to the bottom and looks like he is playing dead. Thank you all for your input

The tank is fully cycled. .25 ammonia 0 nitrates 10 nitrites. I have 3 tanks all of them are reading .25 ammonia with the api test kit

How do you know that any of your tanks are fully cycled if you get ammonia and nitrite readings? Any ammonia or nitrite = not fully cycled. Either none of your tanks are cycled or the API test kit is off. I would suggest the former is more likely as having both the ammonia and nitrite reagents being off would be unusual. Bring a sample of your water from your tanks to your LFS to get tested. If reads any ammonia or nitrite, you need to recycle all your tanks. If no ammonia no nitrite, buy a new test kit.

Oscars are pretty hardy but no fish should be subjected to any readable ammonia or nitrite in their water. Unlike nitrates, fish have zero tolerance to them and it is causing damage.
