New Oxydoras Niger

Picked this guy up at the weekend from Oddball express, wild Oxydoras Niger from Peru. He is currently about 8"

Looks good what's the diet to pump this lil fella ? I find they grow pretty well with cichlid gold and hikari sinking pellet

It seems to enjoy sinking bloodworm pellets and hikari sinking pellets, as soon as some land near to the entrance of his shelter he is out hoovering them up.

What sort of growth rate can I expect from him? Some people say slow and others seem to say fast.

got my oxydoras niger about 18 months ago at a skinny 6-7inches,must be about 20" now and quite chunky.seemed quite shy until about a foot long,now it gets stuck into the grub with the rest of them

I really like these guys and have had several in the past. If you feed him well expect a couple inches of growth per month. Very docile and friendly huge cat.
