hi! i just got a pacman frog for a about 5 days now.

it is about 3" from the mouth to its butt.

does its eyes look sleepy or what?

i've also read that these guys are big eaters. however, mine doesn't seem to be the case.

it ate only once the day before. it only ate another 1.25" frog. it didn't eat again since then.

how long will it take for the pacman to digest the frog? pretty worried now.

i fed it a bullfrog.
i got those little bullfrogs from my LFS, which sells them as feeders for predatory fishes.

i've tried cricket, superworms and mealworms. but they were all ignored.
i was happy when it ate the bullfrog. but now worried again.

also, as i cannot find a suitable substrate for it, i've lined the bottom of the tank with lots of moss temporarily to make the frog feel more at ease. will that be fine for the time being?

of course, i got a water dish in there too.
temperature is about 82F. humidity is high at my place, and i mist the tank in the morning and at night too.

nice looking pacman ..as for feeding what kind of frog did you give it and how big?

bullfrog as mentioned earlier.
and the size is about 1.25" from the mouth to the butt.

(forgot to mention the size)
is there an edit button somewhere?

The reason why your frog doesnt take interest in anything else is because it was probably only fed on pinky mice before you got it. This is not good. If you starve it, it will start to take the bugs again.

it is only 3" and it can take pinkies? :WHOA:

anyway, i'm pretty sure that it wasn't fed on pinkies previously because it is so hard to find pinkies in my country.

but all i have to do is to starve it and it will be eating what i feed it?

and if i starve it, it will take food from my tongs too?

I wouldn't feed pinkies yet its a bit small .
as for feeding bull frogs i wouldn't either probably tasted bad i would feed meal worms ,wax worms , crickets all gut loaded and small feeder fish guppys and gold fish.
when he gets bigger i would start on pinkies and move up to fuzzys included in his diet remember variety is important and dust food with calcium.
pacmans are lazy by nature so dont expect him to move much after a big meal.

how does pacman's waste look like? solid? mine is like liquid... and the amount is scary... :WHOA::screwy:

and do they do it on land? i've read that some pacmans will do their business in the substrate, and hop on to another part of the tank. so i assume that they like ****ting on land. but mine did so in the water bowl.

and it still refused to eat from my tongs. dropped a platy into the water dish and it did try to chomp up the platy, but missed a couple of times.
was halfway through when it suddenly dropped its liquid bomb.

lol what hes not litter trained take em back ..joking
give him a couple days to settle in dont forget hes in a new environment and his diet has changed .
one other thing give him a cool spot in the tank to chill a log in the corner with a nice enclove that stays damp.
