I feel you, but what I don't get is festae are gold right. Only when the female is breeding is she the brilliant red right? I don't get how that carries over. I guess I understand that it does happen, I just don't see how.

well i dunno anything about them being gold, honestly. my female always looks like she does in those pics. always red/orange that is. i do know males seem to appear gold in color at times. so i think you are confused with the sexes. or most festae's out there could be hybrids or just plain low quality. i dunno.

well i don't believe these eggs this time are gonna hatch. the male may be just to young yet.

Your female looks like that year round? I always assumed they only got that red with the breeding dress. That is awesome. Now I might just have to try and find a female festae.
