Tried pairing the SB tex with a red bp, he loved her, but she wasnt receiving him too well, and im not for sure the red BP is a female, so ive given her a break in the big tank with lots of options to pair to get her (or him to drop its tube) meanwhile, i was doing that with my panda parrot and she dropped her tube recently, so i switched them, so far so good the SB tex and panda parrot have paired and nesting in a pot, unfortunatly im going away for a couple days for xmas :S so we shall see what happens unless i can get them to lay before i leave and seperate the eggs ....not sure if they even make any quality fry for that matter? could be interesting tho...if it goes anywhere, this will be the progress thread.

Cant recollect the source, But somewhere I read that the SB Tex actually isnt a hybrid but a natural mutation bred until the line was stabilized. SB is a natural occuring mutation in fish, But stabilizing it is not easy to do. You said you bred him yourself, What do you mean by that?
Interesting pair BTW. You should get a few very unique interesting fish out of the cross.
