any frozen/refrigerated processed raw white fish meat would be fine. you can get them from supermarkets but I find that asian supermarket/grocery stores have the best price and varieties.
you can breed feeders (guppies, mollies, swordtails, convicts, etc) but they may not always get eaten especially when your piranhas get bigger. too small of a prey is not worth the energy to kill I guess. you may find that some "feeders" may become tankmate in your p tank for a good amount of time before they finally get eaten.
to quarantine feeder is to isolate it in a separate tank for a period of time just to make sure it doesn't not carry any disease or parasites. some people will treat with med as a precaution. you can also feed the feeders high quality food to increase their nutrient value before they are fed to the p's. you can gut load them before you feed them to piranhas but if they don't get eaten right away then gut loading is useless.

cool thanks for the info, i jsut got a dozen guppies today and fed them the guppies without treating, hope there fine, guess i will have to try breeding my own feeder fish soon, i jsut hope if i throw junks of meat in there they will eat them...

If they don't eat them just remove the uneaten portion. Anothr food you can try is frozen brine shrimp my piranha love it and they are at 5" one is at 9" and still munches on brine. It dosnt cost much either wuldnt base their diet on it when they are full grown that is where other foods like fish fillets worms ect. Come into play but juvinile piranha do Love brine shrimp. Another thing for a treat wuld be beef heart, chicken liver. These I only feed mabe once a month if that. As was mentiond befor there is no dire need to feed live food yeah it may be fun to watch them hunt but its more of a risk than its worth don't think I never did it I still do but its rare for me to when I do I go get a good sized gold fish 5" and quarenteen it for a month feed it high qulity food and then feed it to them. But that is just to keep things livly and I have noticed that they tend to become more titnit. After they have hunted the fish. I guss its a good way to channel agression kind of like blowen off steem for us.

if they get used to feeders then they may not eat food you drop in right away, just remove any uneaten food and try again next time. I had no problem to get mine on frozen food.
feeding frenzy on frozen food is just as exciting as live feeder, just minus the chasing part.

The easiest way to ID a Caribe is the large Black Humeral Spot behind the gill plate Piraya and Nettereri won't have one. IMO feeder fish is a real pain in the arse, I have to raise/use feeders with other Charciforms I keep, with Piranha it's not nessassary.
It's been a real pain since they ban me from the local Pet Smart for using mollies and tetras as feeders, apparently they have rules against it, they'd rather give the world of fish keeping orange colored poison aka goldfish - lake of fire for them. API makes a general cure that's good for treating feeders in smaller tanks. And No Worries they will eat "chunks of meat" most P's are scavengers by nature.

Ok I'm sorry for derail but lmao they bannd you for feeding fish to fish that's dumb how many do they sell to go in bowls to die slowly from inexperianced keepers they shuld be bannd from their own store not you.
But any way to the op you get any pics of your lil guys yet now I just want to see them lol.

Is raw chicken meat recommended as food for Ps? I've heard of people using livers, as mentioned above, but breasts, legs & thighs???
