New PBass. Killer price.

All around town my LFS sells 9'' Pbass for $100-120. I stumble upon a fish shop that has a new management and there was this Pbass in the back room. I asked him about it and he said he'll let me have it for $12 dollars. I instantly knew this is a killer price so I took him. He was in a 10gallon tank at the lfs. So I saved his life kinda. He's now in bigger tank at my house.

What kind of pbass is he. Looks like a Mono to me, just need someone to confirm this.
 
Looks like a mongrel... probably a temxmonoc. He's very nice by the way.... and those angels are toast.

Mix? That sounds pretty cool. It looks like a Mono to me. I might be wrong though, I'm fairly new to the pbass hobby. Angels will be removed tomorrow.
 
100$ where are you located exactly in the usa?
 
In California. Living in NorCal. I've been wanting to pick up one of these big ones, I seen at least every fish shop in town have 1 or 2 in stock and they are roughtly 100-120 for one at this size. So since I found this one, I bought it instantly. I have 3 small ones that I purchased less than a month ago, which grew big but not as big as this one I just bought. So what is it really? A Mono?
 
Normally when a mono gets a lateral line like this one it's lower, closer to the stomach. This is right in the center, more like a tem. Monos also don't have any black on their gill plates, like this one. It's got SOME tem in it.. somewhere back there... Maybe not much, but some. At least that's what I think based on many fish that I've seen.

I would have grabbed it for that price too. It's definitely looking awesome!
