I just introduced my new peacock bass into my tank with a Jack Dempsey and a blood parrot, and a pleco and clown loach. The JD is giving him problems by chasing him to the top of the tank and nipping his sides (not his fins). the blood parrot doesnt really chase him but doesnt approve of him either. the peacock is just sitting behind a tree ornament hiding from the other fish. should i be worried?

Yes you need to sepeeste immediately the Dempsey will kill your pbass. How big is the pbass and Dempsey? What size tank? I'd seperate the pbass from the other cichlids immediately

the JD is about 4 inches and the Pbass is about 3 inches and the blood parrot is about 4 inches as well. and i can't seperate them i have no where to put him..

Well you need a tank divider. Small cichla can't hang with other aggressive cichlid species like dempseys, they're not territorial and at the size of 3", you really need a group of 3 or pbass because they often like to school as juveniles and live much better that way. If you don't act quickly I'd say you'll loose your pbass to the dempsey

well my blood parrot is the leader of the tank and now every time the dempsey tries to chase the pbass the parrot chases the dempsey away

you could always try a divider that or if ur tank is big enough try adding more fish. That is what solved my aggression problems. Theres many places for them to hide but they dont have there own territories.

Either a fredrichstahli or motaguense, I'm lEaning towards Freddie. I honestly don't think your pbass will make it, if it's getting stressed it won't eat and that could contribute to it's death or it'll get sick with something from stress.

You really should do your homework on fish before you buy them. How big a tank you got?

right now its unfortunately a 55 gallon, but in june ill be getting a 150 gallon. so i figured the 40 would work as a growout tank until i upgraded. and both dempsey and blood parrot are leaving him alone now.
