Hello; Been getting phone calls all day. Something about an automatic bill to an account for Microsoft. Wants me to dial 1 to avoid a charge. I have not dialed 1 yet and do not plan to. I do not have an account with Microsoft and have avoided using credit cards on the internet for many years. I do not think I have ever used a CC on the web.
I also continue day after day to get the one about lowering my credit card interest rate. They keep telling me it is my last chance but has been an ongoing last chance. I pay off any CC bill in total each month.

A girl on my bus got that call during the bus ride.

They are saying there is an issue with the credit card and want you to verify it. Then they empty it out. Ignore it.

I dont even answer the phone if the number showing in my tv is unfamiliar and most of the time it is.

Nowadays, about 90% of my calls to my house phone is telemarketing. The wife insists on having it..........just as a back up, in case of an emergency. I told her we have plenty of neighbors, 3 cars, and a decent arsenal in my gun safe. She still insists on a land line.

Now over half of my cell phone calls are crank callers. They think I'll answer having a similar number as mine.

So far, I've been fortunate. I get very few telemarketing/scam calls on my cell. If I get an unknown number, and they don't leave a message, I put in my block list.

I maxed out my block list on my last phone. I haven't found that feature on this phone yet...plus they keep using new numbers.

I believe for most telemarketing you can opt out, then if they call again after a certain period you can get them hit with a fine... Not sure what legislation happens in different areas but alas. Telemarketing isn't fun, good for spotting the scam!
