Can you see some of the slight images in the background? You can make out someone's head in the photo of the Argentae.

Yeah I was thinking that but I'm still amazed as to how much gets "blacked out" with just the flash being on the top.

Picture a cone of light going straight down. The camera is set to register objects illuminated by that single source of light. If I was to use the same settings without the flash, it would all be that dark. No different than illuminating an object with a flashlight beam in a dark room.

Definitely gonna have to try that out if I get enough extra cash for a seperate flash. I am thinking of getting a Canon DR XT or XTI. Looks like the XS model is coming out next month as well.
