it is def. a florida/spotted. there is no morphological way to tell the two apart. i.e. coloration, pattern, or proportions. the only positive way to tell the two apart would be a blood test or to know the locality of which the fish comes from. either way very nice gar.
p.s. the florida gar do seem to be much more common in the trade, but spotteds do appear from time to time. if you could find out where the dealer got it from, that could help w/ the id.
