mine used to have injuries like this but healed up pretty fast.
how big is he?

Great new addition! What is he eating?

not completely sure, but i know there was another gatf, several orinos, and the asian aro that took it's eye out. probably much more fish in the mix. from the sound of it, it was in a typical asian styled comm tank. this isn't the first time i've seen this fish. prior to this tank, it was in a peacock bass tank when i went over to view it.

same fish in 2008

i'm hoping this guy can recover in my tank, it's got to be one of the slowest "lifestyle" tanks around, sometihng i'm hoping will help. the gars have left it completely alone thus far too. and my cubans(with the exception of the one that's going to be gone by april) are exceptionally unaggressive.

the eye pupil look weak , the body should heal fast

thanks, about the scales, they really look crappy. do you think they will ever look as good as new(or at least somewhat new)? more importantly(to me) do you think the fins will recover their sharp, large shapes?...the left pupil was removed and fish is currently blind in that eye
