Thanks guys, Im not too worried. Ive bought one-eyed and blind fish before on purpose. I dont mind coddling and giving a home to "challenged" fish. It makes them unique. The seller did have a good rep, and I asked him about it before I posted this. He apologized many times and said if there are any problems he could work with me about another one. I still have to get him to eat something, he hasnt adjusted fully yet. I tried mysis shrimp, and some even landed in his face and on his head without him eating. He did pick his head up and flare his spines. Hes a cute little thing trying to look intimidating!
